A visit from Messagemark!

The lovely and talented Kyrie from Messagemark popped into our little shop for a visit a couple of weeks ago. She took some beautiful photos, and also did a lovely post over on the Messagemark blog

We are thrilled to be stocking a range of Kyrie's lovely products, if you don't know the range you should pop on over to the Messagemark site and take a look.

We are a bit overwhelmed by the support we have received from people like Kyrie who we have admired from afar for many years. It's lovely to have so many lovely people along for the My modern nest ride. Warm fuzzies all round.

Grand Opening

Here are a few shots from our opening party. It was a fantastic day and we were thrilled and very surprised by the turn out. Around 200 people came through on the day! A huge thank you to our amazing friends and family that were a huge help in the lead up to the opening. And to our very patient and neglected children for being so good about being stuck in the shop for the last few weeks.

We have a shop!

We are thrilled beyond belief to announce we have been accepted to be part of the Port Adelaide renewal project project, and we have one (well 2 actually) of the shops! Here is an image of the beautifully restored building we will be moving into.

We've had a chance to chat with a few of the local galleries and businesses and have received very positive feedback. There seems to be a lovely community spirit at The Port and everyone has been very welcoming and supportive. Now to get cracking getting ready for our opening of My modern nest.

The building also houses a fantastic community project called Ladder, which provides independent living accommodation for kids at risk of homelessness. There are some amazing images of the finished building on the architects website here.

We have a busy and exciting few weeks ahead. Hooray!

Rare Parker Chest of Draws

This teak parker set of draws is a rare find and is in great condition for it's age. Truely a beautifully crafed piece with matched teak veneer on the draws and veneer mirroring on the top.

New Item's for Sale

This pair of locally made arm chairs by A.J Higgins are a rare and unique find, and would be look great reupholstered with modern fabric. Very much in the design similar to Fler's Fler Holme design.Both foam and fabric are still good condition.
